I'm sure somewhere is a offset to true or false if someone is not really ingame (minimized),
and yes if you run noborder mode the fps drops EVEN if i have set the process priority to high.
Even if a player is in the overlay there should be an offset value change. Should we do a whole offset scan or something like that?
Did someone ever tried to find this?

There's a client cvar (at least on TF2), engine_no_focus_sleep, which controls the maximum framerate while the game window is not active. Perhaps you could check that, and maybe see when they don't respond to a query as fast...?

Thank you but I think it should be one that is in every HL2 even CS:GO what I would prefer.
I searched the cvars for "sleep", "engine" and "focus" but nothing usefull.

Sure he is since he was "missing the point".

I read the posts, you both were basically saying the same thing. Both frame rate and command rate drop when the window is not focused. Plus to point out, he never quoted you and the time posted was very similar so there is a possibility you both had the same idea, and he wasn't pointing his reply to you.

Either which way, counting the clients cmd rate is more trouble than it's worth for some kind of afk checker.

Yeah but actually we won't do a kind of afk checker. I never told something about AFK ^^
I only want to stop some functions on a client if he is not really in the window.

Next Stop
Preventing clients from having music turned on while playing

There's no good way to prevent them from being on desktop
Since client and server communication is limited to prevent abuses like browsing client's files etc.

Which functions do you want to stop, and what's the reason behind it?
