Hope everybody is having a great day here.
I'd appreciate getting some help with my Test ReHLDS not starting up (or not showing up in-game). I've had problems with my other servers before, but this has gotten a bit complicated for me. - Hosted independently on CentOS 7 Dedicated Server.

Yes, I noticed that error, that plugin's been disabled as most of the data is copied over from an other server for this being just a test server and not accepting any audience except authorized "personnels". All it needs is a recompile, so yeah, that error is not the problem.

Port 27015UDP/TCP is confirmed not being blocked by iptables. That's umm, pretty much it, this is kinda weird as I've never been this confused with installing a simple little rehlds before.

ALSO, I've tried disabling every single AMXX Plugin, even amxmodx_mm_i386.so itself with no luck.
ALSOx2, tried disabling every metamod plugin on file ever, weirdly, in console, server appears as it's active and accepting players, whereas there's nothing when in-game. What could've possibly gone wrong?

Welp, thanks in advance as I know we'll come up with something in the end. I Really appreciate any help at this point.

Rather than going through all that mess, I suggest you to;

1. Re-download clean/stock HLDS package through SteamCMD. Make sure the server package has been completely downloaded because it lies most of the time.

2. Launch HLDS server with the following parameters for testing:

./hlds_run -console -game cstrike -noipx -nomaster -noupdate -insecure +maxplayers 32 +map de_dust +ip <just.your.server.ip.no.port>

3. Stop HLDS server.

4. Re-download and install latest ReHLDS on it and nothing else or any plugins yet.

5. Launch ReHLDS server with the same parameter above for testing.

If above works, continue on installing plugins further to fit your death run server step by step, and pay attention what might have gone wrong.

In none worked, I guess it might be OS and dependencies related. I personally host on latest Ubuntu 32 bit, works so far and not a single crash probably due to the reason I don't install much additional crap.

Hi there,

Appreciate your reply but before you even posted this, I figured one thing : Being the Einstein that I am, I had everything installed on root as I realized and got rid of everything. Right after, completely fresh installation of Base HLDS (Not ReHLDS yet) with SteamCMD with absolutely nothing additional installed, not even Metamod and it's still not running.

I literally thought I nailed it when I figured the root installation out, but god damn it this thing is going crazy this time, lol.
PS Yeah I verified the installation is completely fine, I didn't even need base appmanifest from Arkshine as it works fine when you login with

Okay this just got interesting here.
I tried not to put the Startup Parameters into a file, and tried launching them direct as a command and this is what I got.

Unable to load engine, image is corrupt.
Something that I never saw in logs, nothing.
That's the untouched official engine from steamCMD.

Tested, tried installing ReHLDS binaries, they start off fine with normal console, server just isn't accessible in-game at all. (official engine and gamedlls backed up)

This problem is certainly out of my knowledge. I hope an expert wll pick it up from here so you get that shit solved.

On a side note though, there is a low possiblility that you will run into an unaccessible server if you have followed above steps as it is. I think your server package is not complete and that downloader is lying to you, hence that;

"Unable to load engine, image is corrupt."

error showed up at last. You just can't trust that downloader, it's acting weird for old games like it wants everyone to buy CSGO. But if you want, I can DM you a link to download my back up stock HLDS server package as your last try. Can't post here in-case a forum ban hammer is awaiting to hit my head.

Hi and Thanks for that cooperative response!

Yes, fair enough, those steps are like the realest basic official steps that can be, and as you said, the download doesn't seem reliable enough to just trust in 3 tries, here what I'll do is I'll delete the user from Linux usermod wheel and start over from scratch even though I'm sure the OS has nothing to do with this and will give the installer a couple more tries with and without anonymous logins. The way it progresses slowly and quite convincing and quite familiar of my past server installations and so I didn't go further with spamming it, but you clearly have a point here, that is one terrible of an installer.

That is very nice of you, thanks for the offer. I'm definitely giving it the last of the last priority as I feel like it will eventually finally end up having a full installation without leaving files half-way through overwriting everytime they're validated.

This will come in handy for sure :

The one thing that had me really thinking is, server didn't respond positively even after installing supposedly complete binaries of ReHLDS and ReGameDLL (Compatible Versions) that I already run on my 3 other servers 24 hours with absolutely no crash. Understandable that base HLDS didn't download properly, but is it really normal for it to not trigger ReHLDS startup at all? As from the console logs and -condebug, rehlds binaries were able to successfully launch the server at a point where the every plugin was functional. Sketchy af.

Still hoping a moderator's/"expert's" attention in the meantime I try another clean installation.

Can't go wrong with this kinda installation.

Edit : Well Fail, this thing is going impossible now, literally a new user, 7 overwrites with anonymous, single write with SteamUserLogin. Only positive part is, this time the engine ain't corrupt, console is as normal as ReHLDS without server appearing in-game. I assumed it was something with server IP or port :

but just checked that iptables is blocking nothing with opened 27010s - 27020s with default being 27015. IP is fine as well as I've forwarded it to my Sub-Domain and a simple traceroute clearly shows it's active. Starting to run outta options of solving this error myself at this point, as I have a feeling I might be missing something. SELinux is the first thing that I disabled after installing the server, just for clarification that that isn't the problem as well. script /dev/null is already running, I officially have absolutely nothing to do about this error at this point.

Hi there,

I'm completely aware that this is my "personal" problem and nobody here is "bound" to help me whatsoever. But, as I'm here to seek some help from fellow "experienced" members like everybody else does, I'm assuming, this would be the right time to give this thread, a little bump to not make it go completely out of sight. Sorry for doing this, all I'm expecting is a bit of cooperation and it'll make it very smooth for "me".

Ha, that's exactly what I realized after "bumping" it as nothing was pushed nor pulled away.
But hey, at least I could get your attention! Lol.

already did that, but 2 things i have to say:
1. the first startup on your second post looks fine to me. For me the server is running there.
2. ./hlds_linux? I always started my server with ./hlds_run. The engine should then use the appropriate binary itself.
Other than that i have no idea what's wrong with the server, but i have to say that i don't use ReHLDS. Imo it should be banned here as it violates the license agreement of Valve.

Well, yes I thought the same, but the only problem that I noticed was, whatever port the server runs on, it just WON'T appear online, absolutely NOT accessible in game even though it shows nothing suspicious in console. Tried pretty much everything I could, from multiple clean installations to proper ReHLDS Installation without custom plugins, it just literally won't appear online.

For that, yes I figured that it's not hlds_linux, I always start with ./hlds_run as well, I was just kinda tired of trying and constantly failing and so mixed 'em up. But yeah I assure you, hlds_linux was a mistake. Consider it a typo for now.

Yeah, guess I'm gonna be stuck with this problem for a while. In case someone else finds anything additionally wrong here for about 2 more days, if not, I'll completely clean install CentOS and do everything all over again.

Makes sense ReHLDS may had to be banned as it does violate Valve's terms of use, but afterall, the fact that ReHLDS is overall drastically better than Official HLDS can't be denied . Personally, I've never felt as smooth as ReHLDS with the official release before but you clearly have a fair point. Even though, 2018 might not seem like a perfect time to think about it as HL1 is going down kinda quickly these days, so anything making it better and smoother would just be a victorious scenario.

Anyways, thanks for the reply mate. You're awesome. I'll get back with edits if this gets working again, if not, I'll just shut everything down and sleep a proper night.
