i think thats not realy a good idea, 'cause u have to bring up a motd-page like the first page u see on every server. so the client has to close it to read the stats...

Ok, suggestions.
1) Use the file_size native to get the number of lines rather than reading through the file to get the number of lines.
2) Take the 'soundnum' declaration out of the loop.
3) Don't use static paths. Use get_configsdir. That's what they are there for.

y? another number has to be taken, otherwise the plugin will only read from that specific line. the while-loop will end when the sound was found. normaly the loop will be executed 1 times.

Maybe show the kill/deaths and team score in a motd as well?

? what do u mean ? this is a sound plugin, it plays sounds at the end of a map.

I mean that if playing a sound without precaching it requires a motd (that will cover the scoreboard), then you could show all the k/d (like a scoreboard) in that motd.
