[MOTD] Faster display of motd window

Hi,

Is it possible to speed up the load time of the MOTD window?

Im currently redirect to a URL bcs MOTD is limited.

But it takes to much time...
I have to wait around ~10-20sec.

I have noticed this also on onther Servers.

Is there some workaround?
Or could a Plugin take control of the MOTD window so that the content will be displayed instantly?

Get a faster host. What is the link to your motd? If it's a picture it could be the size of it that is taking so long to download and display

I dont think that is a hoster problem.
I got pictures and text.

this is the current load time of the website (FF ver.9.0):

But the problem is that the motd window is not loading instantly.
there is this 10 sec. gap where nothing is happening and then only the .html file is loading.

What game is this for? And also when you say only the html file is loading. What other files do you have in it?

Team Fortress 2 (an Orangebox game)
modt should be same on all orangebox games i guess.

a .jpg ~2780kb (loads in 3 steps)
simple text paragraph
and some gametracker banners

it isn't orangebox anymore :O..

Is there any way you can reduce the filesize for that jpg image? That's massive and would take ~10sec to load on my connection.

Yeah pull the image down... open it in paint or something and drop the colors out of it a little or resize it which should drop the file size down. Also since you are pulling gametracker banners you are pulling other information from yet another site which could be slow at any givin time.

After all that is done the only thing left to do is locate the page on a different host (faster host).

Reason why we only have 1 image pop up with html code that stretches 100% on all sides so it fits any resolution. Faster load-times.

Fix the 404, reduce the image size, and reduce the amount of http requests. Beyond this it's all speculation since you're not posting the URL.
