it comes up with the this weapon is restricted but it still lets you purchase it.

AMXX 2.0 Tech Release 3 / metamod 1.17.2 - on linux

I have the same problem - I have the AWP and shields restricted - yet I can still buy them.

2.0 has LOTS of bugs try using 9.9

You guys should post a proper bug report. So the problem can be repoduced and fixed.
