Hey!

I tried finding any information about optimizing a linux distro (debian) for CSGO but didn't really find anything. Have anybody tried different setups and settings?

Is there a reason to run 1000HZ kernel for CSGO? Or should I use like 250HZ?
What debian version should I use? Newest? Older?
What about Preemtion? RT?

Nowadays SRCDS FPS will follow tickrate speed.
tickrate 64 = fps 64 or tickrate 128 = fps 128

It's pointless to speed up kernel. Expect cs 1.6 ?
*edit
Some else can give proper answer

Indeed, not needed.
Last Debian is ok to run CS:GO. Optimizing a distro is useless, the last one is always the best one.

Running Gentoo CK patch ATM. Unstable tickrate (12 with 20 players. Im lost, what could be the problem?

Dual Intel Xeon X5650 (12M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 6.40 GT/s Intel QPI)
12GB DDR3
2x250GB, SATA, 3.5-in, 7.2K RPM (raid1)
Gigabit

Tried different settings in the kernel like:
100/250/1000HZ
CK Brain Fuck patch / No patch
Dynticks on/off
HT on/off
Low-Latency Desktop/no preemption

sv_minrate 0/80000/128000
sv_maxrate 128000/80000/50000/0
sv_maxupdaterate 128
sv_minupdaterate 128
sv_maxcmdrate 128
sv_mincmdrate 128

so Ubuntu 13.11 generic is better than lowlatency for srcds CSGO?

does it matter that I isolate cpus and mask the csgo processes to run on their dedicated isolated cpus?

for game server and which is in

hardware is the same but
software tuning is does what it should doing
