SteamBans Guardian is a server side anti-cheat plugin for both HL1 and HL2 (MetaMod and MetaMod: Source) which protects the server for known exploits and cheaters.

Right now SteamBans Guardian features:

• Wallhackblock
• AntiFlashhack
• CVarChecks
• Field of View Check (FOV)
• Autoupdating
• RconLock
  

SBGuardian can be loaded with and without MetaMod:
For Source Games, you have the choice of loading SBGuardian as a MetaMod- or VSP-Addon
In HL1, you can choose between MetaMod-Loading or direct-loading (ideal for owners of warserver who do not want to run metamod on their server)

More features are planned and will be added in the progress.

It includes everything from RCONLock, KAC and other stuff all in one yes.
And yes it also supports HL2DM.

I really wish there was more information about the plugin to justify dropping KAC, but I can't seem to find anything other than the three bulletin points listed.

Does it have the potential to break after an update? For example, DAF never has.

No it doesnt and we are setting up a full page on the steambans.com site to have all the information your asking and a sum up of what is in there and is coming. Auto plugin update is one of the things that is going to be supported.
