Hi there!

I just opened my first server and since its now empty most of the time, I want to always have 4 bots on the server.

I already tried writing things like "bot_quota 4" in my gamemodes_server.txt aswell as this plugin: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=195000

I also have this in my gamemodes_competetive.cfg:

bot_chatter off
bot_defer_to_human_goals 1
bot_defer_to_human_items 1
bot_difficulty 2
bot_quota 2
bot_quota_mode normal
bot_join_after_player" 0

Do I need:

sv_hibernate_when_empty 1?

also: when i type: exec gamemode_competetive
it says: couldnt exec gamemode_competetive

the file exists tho!

do i have to change the fileg amemode_competetive.cfg or gamemode_competetive_server.cfg?

Never edit the default configs as you might lose them when your server updates.

Only edit _server configs.

You don't, as it executes automatically already. Read the link Neuro Toxin provided. It executes every map change.

You only have to add it to your gamemode_*_server.cfg file (which you may need to create), you don't ever, for any reason at all, need to touch the gamemode_*.cfg.
* = casual, competitive, etc...

i got another dumb one: i have 12 slots but always 2 bots on the server, which i want. in the community browser it says 0/9 tho as if I only had 9 slots!

You probably also have a GOTV, which takes a slot as well. Unfortunately, that's just how the browser operates.
