OK, would be really helpful with debug messages, thanks.

this plugin version is running fine without any problems or error messages on all my 3 servers since i yesterday released it, so it must be something 1.6 specific.
in case your debug messages don't help me i will install 1.6 on my root machine and track all errors down for now and forever

I am amazed at your source and how neat everything is and you're obviously a pro to come in and start using sockets module only 11 days after joining the forums officially...

Not that my opinion matters or that I'm smart or anything.. but I can't find anything that looks sloppy like most people who code on here... Very amazing code.

Very nice, very pro, and definetly a plugin I will be using on my servers.


Edit: I have a question...

I notice there's an option for checking the redirect server for max players etc... well can you add an option like this:

If player is trying to join server 1

Server 1 is full redirecting to server 2
Server 2 is down redirecting to server 3
Server 3 is full redirecting to server 4

Continually cycling through until a connection is made or at least cycling through the list one full time?? I know you've done so much work already but that addition would be very good.

Upon going to download lang files I notice they're not at the bottom where I expected them to be. If you can post lang files as attachments on the bottom that would be greatly increase the ease of finding the files to download for the plugin. I know it's posted there because there are two versions, but posting the version without special characters at the bottom at the least for your general public downloaders will make it easier for them to find what they need and download it quicker... just .. a suggestion.. that's all.

oh dear, now i know what the problem is. i was just stupid
i completely forgot to mention anywhere that you need the module "sockets". that's what causes your errors.
even worse, i didn't tell AMXX that my plugin requires this module. if i did, you would at least have gotten an error message stating that the plugin needs the module sockets to run properly.

i updated the plugin to v0.4.8 and now it is complaining if the module is missing - and i added a new section to the description:

Modules: The plugin requires the modules engine and sockets to be loaded. You can enable them in your modules.ini. If you don't want to load the sockets module search for the line containing require_module("sockets") and comment it out or delete it. When doing this you can only use redirect_check_method 0. If you set this to something different your server might crash or other problems arise.

anyway, i set up an 1.6 server to test it myself and my tests were successful. hopefully the plugin will now finally run as expected on your servers as well

as i said i am already experienced with several programming languages. this comes through private interests and through my real life occupation being software developer of course
e.g. i used socket programming in other languages before and in none of them it was as easy as in Pawn, so nothing special with coming up with sockets right from the start. Plus Pawn in itself is like a lightweight version of C if you know C you only have to learn a few differences and look up the functions on amxx website's function search.
the only thing that was really new for me is programming for a game server, and i must confess i really start to like it

this was what the original v0.1 code did. when you look at the v0.2 changelog you will see "random automatic forward instead of choosing the next free server from the list". but anyway, i remember back when i changed the code to random redirection i already thought "i might make this optional so people could choose between the 2 redirection systems". somehow i forgot it afterwards.
so many thanks for reminding me of that again, i added it to "Coming Up:" section now so i won't forget it a second time.
