Hi all,

I ran into an issue (I think) w/ SM last night in running an inclan match on our server. See my siggie for the version and several plugins that are run. The issue seems to be w/ the provided SM config file called Warmode_on.cfg.

Here is what I had set up:
  • An additional match.cfg to be executed using the SM menu.
  • Retained server.cfg file as-is.
  • Uploaded mapcycle.txt to /tf/ folder to reflect desired maps and rotation.
  • Uploaded mapname.cfg to /tf/sourcemod/cfg/ folder to reflect settings (i.e, timelimit, SD, etc.).
  • Server manually restarted via Cpanel, just in case.
Prior to our match I entered the server to test as my expectation was to do the following – call this MATCH START:
  • Entered server and changed to map1.
  • Executed match.cfg – changed the hostname, password enabled, etc. (this was a slight variation to a CAL cfg file – echoed everything as expected.
  • Executed the warmode_on.cfg file – echoed everything as expected.
The above seemed to “test” well to get things started. However, I wanted to test returning the server back to “normal” (excluding the mapcyle.txt and mapname.cfg changes). Thus, I expected to do the following, which would be in reverse order of above MATCH START – call this MATCH END:
  • Execute warmode_off.cfg.
  • Execute Standard Server.cfg – this would be original file in /tf/cfg/ folder.
This is where I believe I encountered a problem, I could not access the SM menu anymore in-game chat. “!admin” and “/admin” were not recognized, thus I could not perform MATCH END. In doing a map change via HLSW, the warmode_on was still in effect. Is my understanding correct in that warmode_on is supposed to retain SM admin access? (None of the file was edited) My intent was to disable all plugins, but retain of admin functions.

My only resolution was to not use the warmode files at all. Take my match.cfg and make that the server.cfg and carry on. Then revert everything back.

Wow, I would sure love a plugin for TF2 that this awesome guy did for CSS.

Thanks in advance for people’s assistance here if indeed this is user error (I’m the problem) or maybe this is a bug w/ the intended warmode files. Let me know if more information is needed to help diagnose.

Hi! I dont know that my config will help U, but here our warmode config (in sm_warmode_on.cfg)

so uh.. this is a warmode for tf2?

Yep, we use this config 4 War. I dont know that this is a good config, but we dont have problems.
