Hi everyone,

as most of you know, when there is a Steam outage, players receive a message stating there is a session error or session is no longer available.

As far as I know the only solution to let players who are not already playing in the server join it's to restart the server. As you know this is annoying and Valve doesn't seem to care about this bug related with the lobby system that wasn't present in CS:S.

Me and some other people are wondering if maybe there is a way to know players are experiencing session error and restarting the server automatically (as this is the only thing we could do as we can disable the lobby system) when this occurs by means of a plugin.

Any idea about how we could try to fix this?

fix that doesnt require reboot nor emptying the server would be great, something that could "reconnect" into the steamdatabase

I think Valve is unable to fix this bug. This problem exists since CS:GO was released and it is simply ignored. Every time when the Steam servers are under heavy load i must restart my CS:GO permanently because nobody can join.

Note:
Today in the time from 6PM til 10PM (UTC +1) was 3 times the connection bug,
can we find any steam server which was down in that time?

I have been digging through that extension since in L4D2 you can unreserve lobbies and let players flow in (see this plugin: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=94415), but I have little knowledge about extensions myself (and altogether) and, while the engine is almost the same, I think there might have been changes that wouldn't allow something similar to work. Perhaps someone with more experience can share a bit more than I, though.

Okay now my update:
The SessionID is everytime 0 as long as the "game will not start until both teams have players" message appears,
then it will change to a value over 0. It doesn't matter if there is the bug or not.
So steamworks_sessionid_server is now useless for us.

Today I was waiting like a hunter for the bug, at 6.30 pm (UTC+1) today I noticed the bug and played a bit with ReconnectClient(client) and a ForceChangeLevel because yesterday if the bug was there and I left the game as last person I changed to map two times with the admin console and the bug was gone, so today it didn't worked because players were there, so I ReconnectClient(client) in a for loopafter that a ForceChangeLevel, before I used the function I clicked on my server to join, after that I used the function and I could join on the connection bug server with players in. I tried that some times and always worked, the only problem is if I reconnect to the server the bug is still there, so there is only a second to connect to the server. I think thats because VAC activates first after the map change is seccuesfully finished.

This is really ANNOYING, i'm restarting my server around 4 or 5 times per day because of this -.-
