Update

Restored from the dead. I uploaded the nut scripts for SI Limit Remover, this is not a plugin, but a fix to that annoying limit.

Am I supposed to simply unzip the 3 files in the "\left 4 dead 2" directory?

The post says that the directory is already setup within the Zip File, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Very simple fix really and easy to install, obviously it goes into the left4dead folder under scripts/vscripts

If you are interested in changed the director variable "MaxSpecials", I suggest you look at my plugin "l4d_maxspecials".

This plugin allows MaxSpecials to be changed as a normal ConVar. That mean you can use !cvar MaxSpecials to check/change it from the chat window, and use SetConVarInt(FindConVar("MaxSpecials"), newvalue) to change it in a script.

It requires Left 4 Downtown 1 or 2 (version 0.4.5 and up), as it needs the forward L4D_OnGetScriptValueInt. If l4dt is not present the plugin won't do anything.

If you wish to go back to the default value of MaxSpecials (usually it's 2), just set MaxSpecials to -1.

I did not include code for DominatorLimit, as I have never seen any evidence that it does anything. SmokerLimit, HunterLimit, etc. are also not included, since they already have ConVars "z_smoker_limit", "z_hunter_limit", etc. which should be used instead of the director variables.
