Right, I just did a test with cl_allowdownload set to 0, and it downloaded the files anyway?
I'm guessing its a l4d2 bug, but it works in the favour of this plugin

Just finished a new version that sets sv_allowdownload to true, making sure that problems doesn't pop up again. and I also add tonfa to the list in the cfg because i had missed it for some reason (probably because it is the worse melee weapon... ever)

I'll go upload the new version now...

probably...

unfortunately, I can't change anything client side via the plugin, so there's nothing I can do really, Though saying that, if the client has it set to 0, then the melee weapons will still spawn, but they wont have audio and will have glitchy animations...

Could you run a client execute / fake client execute to change cl_downloadfilter? I know you can run most commands on clients, so I think that'd work.

You can only run server commands client side, and I dont think any of the cl_ ones are used server side aswel as client side.

I have tested with cl_allowdownloads, and that does not work.

Really? I could have sworn I've changed people's rates before (cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate) to get rid of ping masking...

Did you try both ClientCommand and FakeClientCommand?

you either need to turn cheats on and use the command "give riotshield" or get all4dead2 and use the command a4d_giveitem riotshield (I'm not sure it's a4d_giveitem. It's something like that)

hm,, well I see the shield and the knife, but the text files are not downloading.
I even turned sv_allowdownload 1

My cfg shows a maxfile size of 100, but the txt files plus the campaign txt files total under 100 kb

And when i drop the knife, I see a pair of arms on the ground where the knife should be. I have the drop plugin.

Make sure you have the newest VPK
Make sure on the server you have these set:
sv_allowdownload 1
sv_allowupload 1
Make sure on your client you have this set:
cl_downloadfilter all
