I have translated some heroes (such as sh_xavier.sma),I translated the hero's name and info into chinese . And it displays correct in CS1.6 . I get the picture like this :de_dust20003.JPG (the first picture)

But , when I type "/myheroes" , CS open myheroes list , but in this place ,
the hero's name and info shows lousy codes . I get the picture like :Snap1.jpg(the second picture)

I just want more chinese people to enjoy this mod , so , why it shows me lousy codes in myheroes list. how should I do ?

Not only when I type "/myheroes", but also when I type "/playerskills" and so on .
but , when I type "/help", it shows correct（no lousy codes）
I think the problem comes from amxx1.8.1
where can I fing superheromod.inc(1.2.0.8 ）,I want to try amxx1.8.0 so, I want the older superheromod.inc to complie sma

Half-Life engine doesn't support utf-8, so amxx can't really support it. In turn means I can't really support it either or at least should not be expect to.


utf-8 is requried for that lettering, the commands you are having issues with are html encoded motd messages. It's possible adding an html meta field with "charset=UTF-8" will show the characters correctly but I can't say for sure.

Show me the output of "amxx plugins" so I know what sh version you are working with exactly and I can edit an sma that you can try to see if it will work.

And no the include (superheromod.inc file) nor amxmodx version will not change the fact that this is not working.

I just complie Xavier in the right way ,the other heroes I have not complie because I failed to translate hero name and info into chinese(in the /myheroes list) .so , Xavier is the example .

Before I find this forum , I download a superheromod.amxx from internet of China .And with that superheromod.amxx ,when I type "/myheros", my server will open "myhero list" with no lousy codes, all words is in chinese.
But that superheromod.amxx is compile with sh1.17.5 . sh1.17.5 is too old to adding other heroes.So ,I have to upgrade sh to 1.2.0 , so I can add other heroes , but ,the "myhero list" shows me lousy codes.
I just want to say : I think there is a way to show chinese words in "myhero list" wihtout lousy codes , and I trust you can ! come on

I do not recommend using amxx 1.8.0 over 1.8.1.

Also, if you are going to use SH 1.2.0 or above you should really update the default 1.17.5 heroes that came with the mod.

I think even if i set the meta charset as utf-8 it wont work. I think the sma would need to be saved as utf-8 for it to work correctly only in doing so the compiler will not compile the file.

There is no superheroconst.inc for 1.17.5, the core system has changed with 1.2.0.*. I gave you all the includes in the other post. And do not mix old with new it wont work.


Ask in the other forum you got 1.17.5 from what they did to make it work with utf-8 cause at this point i do not know.

now, there is two way in my front ,one is old superheromod.amxx,which has been translated into chinese,but can't add other heroes ;
one is 1.2.0.9 superheromod sma ,which can add other heroes ,but I can't translated some motd words into chinese.
so....maybe it is the time for me to give it up..
