Well according to an interview with CSgamer.net
The advertisements are just 'tests' for now. Hopefully the tests bomb, CS is restored to it's previous glory, and the ads don't spread.

That was for the beta, this is the final version, and we have ads.

You used to be able to access the better by adding -beta.

The advertisements are still just tests for other games, to see how the general public responses to them.

I think after Valve realizes how many people are dropping CS 1.6, because of the ads(Also, hopefully noticing the boycott).They probably won't spread to other games.

The only way we found out so far is to block the ones on the walls, but not the Score Boards. "gl_polyoffset -15829"
