Ok, a few months back I had metamod instaled on another server and it was cake.

Today trying again and it is not working.

I believe the troubles is with GCC-3.4

MY OS is FDC2

I am running GCC 3.3.3-7 I believe,

yum update gcc yields nothing.
I am not very linux savy and barely manage to get by.

Could anyone offer me any assistance.

I a confidnet that all other files and settings are according to the instructions.

Wow, I really thought this would be a common issue. Guess not.

Anyone?

The latest metamod:source seems to rely on libstdc++.so.6 which means you need gcc-3.4.1 or later (which Valve requires to compile the SDK). I think BAIL is working on removing any dependencies on libstdc++ for the next version.

Thank you for your reply.

Is GCC-3.4 something I can upgrade to?

If so exactly how might I go about it.

yum update ???? or yum install ????

I can only assume its not that easy.

Try google with your linux version in the search with migrate/update gcc.

For example, Gentoo:

After much research and a conversation with a nix guru there is no GCC-3.4 for FDC 2. My only option would be to put a newer version of nix on my extremely stable box. NOT!

I sure hope the author finds a work around, thanks for your help DUKE. (bring back the chicken…. lol)

" If you require an older glibc version, you can look in the SF.net download archives,"

I have looked but can not find the archives, could anyone point me to the last release prior to GCC-3.4 being a requirment.

I really want to try out Death Match and look at the VIP pluggin once it is released.

Thank you and if it is an obvious link I am missing sorry for being a pain.

Fedora Core 2 probably isn't compatible. The next release of Metamod:Source should no longer be dependent on libstdc++.so.6, so you might want to wait a couple weeks until version 1.1 comes out and try again.

Any news on Version 1.1? Or any way around the libstdc++.so.6 dependency?

Thanks,

Word is that 1.1 will be released "as soon as it's done."

I think they are getting pretty close though.
