hello Shadowysn, your updated plugin doesn't seem to work on survivor re-skins. For example, Coach Metro still holds his pistols like a pussy. Hehe

Ellis also has an idiotic single pistol pose, where he holds it up like a gangster when there's no danger them aims it like a robot when a zombie is in sight.

When i removed the plugin animations of removing the magazine for a new one were back.
I tested it and the magazines were properly removed while I had my plugin enabled.

You've most likely toggled on/off an addon which altered the models.
That, or something funky with L4D2's addon manager.

You said 'pistols' so I'm gonna assume his dual pistol animations are ugly?
It happens for the vanilla Coach too.

I'd like to fix it, but the plugin is limited to server-side. It can't alter the actual animations themselves, only tell the server what animation to play and the circumstances to do so.
(The advantages of the plugin include the animations being guaranteed to play for everyone, not just you.)

Since there's no replacement for the dual pistols, I can only leave it untouched.

There's Ellis' calm frying pan idle animation which I can use to replace his idle pistol anim, but there hasn't been any other animations that can server as a replacement for the active pistol animation.

I'm also using a Survivors Fixes and Improvements vpk from steam. pretty much fixes everything including coach's double pistol anims.

It just changes the ff coach model files(not animations):
survivor_coach.mdl
survivor_coach.phy
survivor_coach.vvd

Any idea which file controls posture?

It's something like anim_coach.ani.
You can find them in the pak01_dir.vpk, in which various versions are scattered throughout folders like left4dead2, left4dead2_dlc3 and update.

You can try the update folder before anything else, as it most likely contains the recent updated versions of the files it has.

As for why the addon didn't alter anim_coach.ani, the fix most likely reuses animations from other survivors.

Think of the .ani files as a skeleton that can perform various animations, and the .mdl files as a mold that can attach to any skeleton in an instant.
Two or more skeletons can be assigned to a model, which can switch back-and-forth between them.
But if two or more skeletons have the same labeled animation, like Collapse_to_Incap, then the first skeleton with the animation that is assigned to the model will take priority over the others.

The person that has the model's source files can change the priority of the skeletons, it is not strictly "anim_coach.ani has highest priority for survivor_coach.mdl"

This is not possible i restarted the game and this is a server without mods.

On what platform did you test it ? My server is on linux it could be an error in gamedata file.
Or even a tickrate bug maybe ?

Dude, the Silenced SMG is one of the weapons that weren't in the first game, hence the magazine being broken.
Did you really test both the returning and sequel-only weapons?
Try the Uzi and see if the magazine works.

Learned something new as I was always using old pak01_dir.vpk as reference from original left4dead2 folder.

What will happen if i rename, for example, anim_rochelle.ani to anim_coach.ani then use afterwards?

My guess is that it might turn all of Coach's animations into Rochelle's, but considering my previous experience with renaming .mdl files, (it makes the model invisible and spews out tons of error lines in the console. I had to decompile the model and alter it's model path in the .qc file before recompiling) it may just not work without the method I had to do.

I noticed that this plugin is crashing the server after the Last Stand update (more info here)
Made a test with just this plugin installed, probably because of txt gamedata.

Don't know if this plugin is still necessary but just reporting in case someone have the same problem.

Edit: After adding +1 to offset signatures of gamedata it stopped to crash, but since I don't have knowledge about it maybe I did it wrong
Updated "CTerrorPlayer::DoAnimationEvent" new values based on Silver's left4dhooks
