I still see buffer error spam in the console so I think it's still needed.

Edit: definitely still needed - some cvars are not being applied after the overflow.

This shouldn't be required anymore and the original should be used, L4D2 Linux restored symbols. As a note you also modified an older version of the gamedata which broke support for CStrike and TF2.

This will probably be invalid for CS:GO too.

Edit: have updated main post, please delete the gamedata to avoid confusing others or breaking due to missing gamedata.
