Yes thats true. But it will not be as easy to maintain the mysql tables as just having a http-file in txt-format. We would have to create a html/php-Interface to maintain everything. But this would be very cool.
Just having a list and there would be a button ADD and you could simply type in the adress, port and the name.
That would be my idea of a central-servermanagementsystem with acess for one or more people on http-based interface and mysql based requests from amxx
But unfortunately I do not have the knowledge (and the time because I'm doing my acquisition this year) to code this :/
But maybe somebody likes my suggestions and wants likes to code it.

well i think davidonpda was the one who already mentioned he could create such a web interface so we could provide it here bundled with the mysql version of xREDIRECT. i don't know whether it's still the case or he thought he could give up on that when we have the http feature instead. from my side i'd like to implement both but unfortunately i didn't get around to do anything in that direction in the past weeks. i am already preparing for the next job switch and i have been ill the last days.

http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=80329

Was where mysql was polled and further discussed.

I started working on the php front side, but only began at the authentication. I have not done anything with the storing of the data, I think I may need some additional information like how it would be stored.

Should the entire config be stored as one sql text entry? Or should we have individual servers listed per entry, so that they could be looped through, and added and removed at will?

I'd hate to get a whole bunch of the front end done, and realize that I've made it impossible for you to work with.

Give me some more direction everyone, and I will get the code going. I am in no high priority to get this done. CS and amxx are hobbies for me, work and family come first right now. I will definitely help what I can though.

Alright I'm going to create a little interface how it should look like. Maybe this will be easier than describing it here :>
(going to edit my post in some minutes)

Edit: Splitted up the information of the ip and servername

And the interface :
