Is there any way to remove the (Hat!) and (Paint!) postfixes? They're pretty distracting.

Could you try to update it to use this?

You wouldn't need the itembot.kv file or whatever anymore, and every update there won't be "[Unknown Item]"

That parses items_game.txt which doesn't contain the correct names for many items.

is the item list in the original post up to date?

edit: answered my own question it is not.

Is there any way to keep an updated item list without having to rely on you to update the .kv file? If it's just a copy/paste from the official items list could you just import that and only use relevant sections?

But what when new items are loaded, just remove the .kv file?

Just copy-paste the item name section from items_game into the config.

Doesn't that give incorrect names too, like you said before? There must be *some* way to do things more reliably while getting the correct names for the items. Perhaps TF2ItemsInfo? (Different than what the last person linked to.)

I think you're thinking of the incorrect names in tf_english.

Sorry for the super long bump but I use this plugin and I'm constantly (low-level) annoyed that I have to manually keep updating the .kv on each new addition of items.

For whatever reason the plugin doesn't auto-update the .kv itself, or I'm doing it wrong or something.

So here is the updated items file as of 6/18.
http://cafeofbrokendreams.com/etc/ItemBot_Items.kv

That should be a pretty permanent link, and I will make some attempt to update it whenever people bug me to, or whenever I get around to updating it.
