i would like to ask about sm_skaterboy. Would it be able to extend to allowing players to type something to fix the problem even if the server didnt add QOL?

Hi banana_chy. The server will need some type of plugin if they want to do something similar to skaterboy. The only normal way to fix the ice-skating bug is for the player to die and respawn or to reconnect to the server.

If the server is willing to use plugins but doesn't want the other changes introduced by QOL, it's worth knowing that all of QOL's features can be toggled independently. The server admin can edit their cfg/sourcemod/plugin.qol.cfg to disable any feature; typically just by setting the associated convar to 0 or -1.

Otherwise there's good news that one of the programmers on the team, Felis, fixed the ice-skating bug in the development version of the game. The development version is planned for release sometime this year. So even if the server you're playing on doesn't want to use plugins you will eventually see the end of this bug!

Minor update to version 2.0.2.

This fixes a crash that would occur when starting runner-only mode with Difficulty and Mod Changer (Thank you to Kevin for finding this). Also fixed is a crash that happens when running the latest version of Weapon Configs with custom medical heal amounts.

Changes in 2.0.3:
  • Added qol_prevent_late_spawn_abuse as suggested by Holy Crap
    • When enabled, players are eligible for late spawn once per respawn event. This means players cannot abuse the late spawn system by reconnecting after dying.

User, Holy Crap, noticed that some players take advantage of QOL's late spawn system. They could reconnect after dying to instantly respawn within the grace period. The new cvar qol_prevent_late_spawn_abuse controls whether the plugin remembers which players have spawned since the previous respawn event. When enabled, those players are not eligible for late spawning until a new respawn event is reached. This is the new default behaviour. Thanks for the suggestion, Holy Crap

Since this project hasn't received updates in a while, I've decided to create a new fork which should hopefully address all of the issues present since 1.10.1.

2.0.4 - 2020-12-17
  • Updated gamedata
    • Weapons no longer lock into iron sights
    • Zombies no longer get automatically shoved when in close proximity to a player
    • Recollecting healthy boards from barricades works again (fixes "Invalid entity index" on map load)
  • Updated code to compile correctly using Sourcemod 1.11
