Its free, you should be banned for being so rude. Want one that meets your standards? Find a coder and pay them the big bucks. Put your money to where your mouth is.

Will your program stop the servers if an infinite loop of start stop happens?
No, but I will add this feature on the next release. In fact, I'll probably set it up so it can e-mail/text you if this happens.

A player count would be a good feature, but at some point the server would need updating because incoming players would not be able to connect so the server would slowly die in population. However, I'm open to suggestions on how to approach this situation. cvar?

As far as the question of "rip", consider the following:
  • Both were created using the only known scripting method to detect an update
  • Both use the SteamTools extension with the same function call (and the only one available to detect an available update)
  • SRCDSAdmin warns players before shutting down the server, "Outdated Do" does not warn players
  • SRCDSAdmin has few cvars, the "Outdated Do" plugin has many cvars
  • SRCDSAdmin and "Outdated Do" create a file for detection, the file each creates is not the same name
  • SRCDSAdmin works with the Windows application, SRCDS Admin, "Outdated Do" does not have an application tied to it
  • SRCDSAdmin has a name that makes sense, "Outdated Do" does not make sense
I found a few flaws with the plugin. I'll be releasing an update within the next couple of days.

There is a bug on my windows server running this plugin with srcds admin app. When update is found it restarts server and creates log, however this continues in a cycle and well it does not seem to update server at all. What am
I doing wrong? it continues in a never ending loop unless I stop server and manually update .

I can verify that this plugin and program works perfectly, i haven't touched my servers for days other than restarts. AutoUpdated and restarts once per day.

Cool, but would rather just have a program that sends me an e-mail when an update is out. You never know what valve is going to break which is why I only update my servers manually so that I can then get on and check them for bugs afterword.

Maybe you can assist my problem above. Its annoying that the server just keeps restarting once an update is applied. Or maybe its not applied. Once server restarts the same message comes up saying srcdsadmin is creating a log. So I dont think the server update is working

Is the path to your hldsupdatetool proper? Have you set the settings to show all so you can see everything? Maybe you just need to be a bit patient and let the files download. You could also be crashing because of the server itself and the program just restarts it so it looks like it just keeps restarting it.

There could be a lot of issues with it but i have windows and it works for me. :]

This is the server repeat, the program is creating the update log but server keeps restarting. I have the hldsupdatetool on my desktop and have it pointed on the settings. If i update server manually and restart, server is fine

Nice plugin, I wrote something similar that works something like...

if less than 6 people are on the server, it displays a message and restarts/updates in five seconds
if more than 6 people are in the server, the plugin displays a message then divides the amount of players in half and restarts/updates when that amount quits. So if 24 people are on connected, the server will restart when 12 disconnect.

if I remember correctly, his plugin does in fact do a "rcon quit" to restart the server, and every server I have ever had access to, albeit only TF2, has had some type of auto update feature that gets triggered on restart... most server providers include this by default, assuming you purchase the server directly instead of a VPS.
