You can kick a client if they join a team and start playing without sending the closed_htmlpage command. That ensures that clients can't override the MOTD timer.

True, but I'm not sure if that would escalate issues with the clients. Basically speaking if that would piss people off and make them not even try to join the server again, I'd rather just the ad show in another form or from another ad location as a way to get around the instances in which are now available for them to avoid the ads.

That doesn't really look good if it comes from Pinion.

If you want to kick players from your servers then install the forced html motd plugin and kick those who have them disabled.

I think you're misunderstanding. I'm not suggesting kicking clients who disable HTML MOTDs, I'm suggesting kicking clients who take specific steps to bypass the timer.

No. I understand that. The previously linked way to bypass the timer also disabled html motds.

Yes, but those were done with two different methods. Using what I suggested won't trip for clients who simply checked the "Disable HTML MOTDs" option, it'll only trip for clients who are explicitly getting around the timer.

Hi All,

We've just sent a bulletin confirming changes for next March.

There is good news, the increased completions have helped, and sales are looking strong.

Yeah but the end result is the same. If clients are kicked it won't look good on Pinion. As such I would think that a better idea would be to have it as a standalone plugin. Like the force html motd one.

Only communities with a completion average above 60% will have their impressions purchased. The higher the completion rate the higher the CPM. The following are examples of
CPM's various completion rates will attract

- 60% $1.10
- 65% $1.15
- 70% $1.25
- 75% $1.35
- 80% $1.45
- 85% $1.50
- 85%+ $2.00 CPM

85% minimum for a small 1.50$?

I don't want to bash pinion or anything, but I think you guys are pushing your luck.

If we just look at Adfoc.us who's offering up to 6$ cpm for a 10 seconds ads + 1 click, im really curious to know why you guys cant do better than that when you are forcing people to watch the ads for 16 seconds+.

To come back on the main topic of this thread, Yes, I will be dropping pinion.

@Loranger

Probably because of this: http://adfoc.us/forum/index.php?/top...sitors-policy/

And the fact that only clicked ads count.
