finally i've got it to work... by throw files from different posts together......
I know it's free, but I would really appreciate it if someone can get these stuff in order with proper documentation... its not that hard.................

The version I uploaded works on left 4 dead 2 linux server

I don't see what
sv_unlock_sb_add or sb_add do
It's said that l4dtoolz has nothing to do with spawning, then what are these for?

does sb_add not work or something? I have increased the amount of slots on my server, but i cannot spawn new bots for new players...

It has been broken for a long time i think. never worked for me

awh thats a shame :/ Thats the single glitch free way of adding bots according to all the testing i've done. Any other bot manager plugins break something or are glitched to hell and back.

I searched the source code "sv_unlocksb_add init error" and it while it was misspelled, that was just for the error message, it has apparently been REMOVED for some reason. Why remove functionality? especially when its the only working way to do that?


Regardless, I can't fix it because i'm not sure how to compile metamods... it says its missing some header files I dont have. If i knew how to do that much I might be able to re-enable this feature, since so many people want it for glitch free bot adding...


Superversus works, but its glitchy, it swaps survivor characters on round change and all sorts of annoying stuff.


I know that L4D2 doesn't monitor characters above 4 survivors, but it would seem easy to write a plugin that monitored them for you, would it not? That way the proper character gets assigned to the proper survivor on round start.

so long as the plugin can identify each bot uniquely, i dont see what is stopping plugin writers from doing this :/ I haven't read up enough on it to write it myself though :[

I never find a plugins to spawn bots for increased slot servers that can work without too much trouble....
SuperVersus is killing me... The number of bots spawned is not always limited to the cvar, and it sets tankHP to 0 and tank health cvar value cannot be changed with superversus loaded...

this plugin now conflicts with left4downtown,just try to change sv_maxplayers to 9 while l4d_maxplayers is set to 10 and see if you can connect to the 10th slot by console...the only way to connect afterwards is to set l4d_maxplayers to 8 then 10 again

If i understand correctly you cannot mix the two slot patching. Do not set l4d_maxplayers if you are setting sv_maxplayers
