The 3870 is my choice because it's expandability is endless as well as it's power, especially when ATI releases new Catalyst drivers in January; just make sure your computer can support PCI-e because the X1600 can come as AGP as well and it would be a pity to see you not being able to use a new video card.

As far as I know the $208 deal sold out immediately. Make sure your power supply can handle a new electricity vampire, oops, I mean video card.

I recently got a new MSI 8600GT to replace a broken card and the box says the PC should have 400W power supply minimum. The 8800GT will surely require more.

Wow, okay...

*Braces for a barrage of insults and flames*

My computer:
Core: Intel Core 2 Quad (2.4 gHz)
Ram: 4 gigs of Ram
OS: XP 64 bit
GFX: GeForce 7 series
Mobo: EVGA NVidia 680i SLI

I get a constant FPS of 80-90 on THAT, 100 if I'm looking at a wall. I don't see how you are going to expect 100 FPS (I'm sure there are others who have gotten 100 fps on their lower grade machines)

I see two things wrong there (one really), an Intel processor (hehe, you probably know my bias, but that's not the issue), and two the graphics card (if it's the 7600GS for example, I BELIEVE off memory that card... oh what's the word... sucked) whereas if it's the 7950, you're kidding yourself... I think if you have those kind of specs (Q6600 really should be overclocked to 3.2GHz at least :-)), you should make sure Anti-aliasing/isotrophic filtering/VERTICAL SYNC are ALL shut off. Also, do us all a favor and invest in a $200 or so dollar Video Card (ATI 3870 = beautiful investment, wish I didn't already have an 8600GT, or 8800GT = great investment as well).

You would need to look at the power rating on the side/front of the power supply. Usually it's inside your computer (God, I hope so ) at the top left hand corner, look for something like 400W, 430W, 600W, etc... If your present power supply is deemed useless, we/I will suggest some good new ones worth the money...
