Since the community I help out decided to NOT use the plugin I created for them, I will release it public. Screw you guys, wasting my time.

Now, what is the plugin? It connects to a popular forum (vBulletin) and grabs a specific group_id, and marks them as "vip" in the server. From there, I have written a small API for the "VipMod" that allows you to check Post Count, from there, hopefully you are smart enough to add support for things like if you have 40 posts, let's allow you to wear hats or something...

Now, my question is, what forum software do most people use? I will be adding a few types of forums such as SMF, PHPBB, vB, IB, but I'm to lazy to do all of these right now...

Also, what type of data would you like from the db?

Edit #1:
For those of you who noticed, I did say I was going to release this a while ago, but then people said "o no! please don't we will use it!" I'm tired of waiting I like to see my work in action it makes me feel like I didn't waste my time.

Edit #2:
At this rate it looks like vB and PHPBB (latest only) will be supported in the first release.

I use IPB, and the only important ID's i can think of would be group id and post count, that's about it o.0

Edit: I know this is AMXX section, but by chance do you do Sourcemod as well? I have both HL1 and HL2 engine servers I could use this for

Yes but plans to release one aren't even a concept to me. I don't play HL2 based games so I can't write a plugin for it if I don't have a server or game to test with.

I could do something for you possibly, wouldn't be that hard. I'd have to take a look at what dynamic arrays are offered via Source Mod. Also have to see if I have time, I should.. ;) I don't see why not.

I can get the server, that's not issue. I'm assuming you have absolutely no HL2 games at all? The Hl2 engine games I have are on the orangebox. So games like TF2, DODS, garry's mod, etc. Are all games that run on this engine.

If you don't have any, that's fine. Test server is no issue, and we can try it out that way

Edit: I do have several copy's of TF2 if you'd like. If you're willing to write the plugin and are able to code for sourcemod, I'll gladly give you a copy of TF2 It's not tied to any account, so you can add it directly to your Steam account.

kk we will see once the HL1 base is done. I have to add RC4 encryption though. My plans are for the server to "save" the info for the player. Now, usernames are public so those can be in plain text, but a password that's salted + hashed for your forum software, that can be retrieved by other people in other servers if they wanted, so we should have the user set a random RC4 hash via cvar to protect it while you running around on other servers.

Not a problem. Setup an easy /readme or /help script that pops up an MOTD explaining everything.

You forgot to put "is this a cancer Thread" in the polls.
I will vote for that if it was.
