ok so i have sourcebans working successfully on one server, i try adding a second as well as a test third and i get this error

[sourcebans.smx] Database failure: [2003]: Can't connect to MySQL server on '198.136.54.104' (10060).


now to cover the obvious, yes i have updated the sourcebans.cfg with the correct server id, as well as used the same databases.cfg from the working server. i have contacted the web host and they have whitelisted the ip's for me already. as well as contacted the game server host to see if they needed to open any ports or anything. ive spent the past few hours racking my brain on this and im out of ideas. anyone have any suggestions/ideas?

You either have the wrong database IP or your host doesn't allow remote SQL connections

Well maybe you can explain this, I have a server working and connecting to the database fine, so I know they allow remote connections, and it's the same database file on all 3 servers so how can it be the wrong ip?

With the error I'm getting, adding a second user to the database prolly wouldn't help would it? I'm like out of ideas on how to get it to work :/

The only thing I can recommend is to contact your host. I just tried connecting to it and got the following

Well last night they said they were able to connect to the database last night from their end, and the login info I copied n pasted from the config worked. I'll talk with them again tonight and see if anything I can figure something out, any tips on what exactly I should recommend them checking? Port types? I know it's 3306 the server tries to connect to the database.

Do they allow your gameserver to communicate to the database server?

well i did ask them about that and here's what they said "Your game server is setup to allow all outbound port traffic. Your server should be able to send data on any port."

No I mean the hosting company that hosts the database server, do they allow remote connections to it?

yes, i have one working server connecting to it without any problem, and i was just speaking with them for the past hour trying to figure it out, and they said if the database can connect to the server, then the server should have no problem connecting to the database.

ive tried everything i can think of D: including reinstalling the mod on both of the non working servers
