Hi,

I set server password in server.cfg (sv_password). Then after the restart, I try to change it with rcon command like

rcon sv_password "newpass"

I see a message like "server cvar sv_password changed to ***PROTECTED***

However, if I disconnect from the server and connect again, the password is the same as I set in server.cfg

Can someone point out what's wrong? As I understand, I can't set the password without a restart, but it can be changed by sv_password command without a restart if it is already set...

server.cfg is executed every time the map changes or starts. Disconnecting and reconnecting "restarts" the map, and re-executes server.cfg.

So you mean I need to set the new password in server.cfg and change the map instead of using command sv_password? Ok, I will try, thanks!
