Hi,

I seem to have a problem with my TF2 servers at the moment. Seems to be that since a fairly recent TF2 update fake clients have been added to my servers and using up player slots (kind of).

The status command will show the true player count, but the server browser and HLSW will show more than the actual amount of connected players (see here for a picture of what I mean). You can see the two fake clients at the top of the player list on the screenshot.

You can fill past the max slots if there are non-connected players on the server (eg: fill to 28/26). Only way to fix the problem seems to be to restart the server because I have tried unloading all plugins/exts but the clients never leave the server.

Has anybody else had any similar issues? or have any ideas how to fix this? as I don't want to get delisted from the master servers or have my host think I am using more slots than what we really are.

Only seems to be happening on our TF2 servers...

can you found from log those players who are dropped/disconnected from server for another reason than regular "disconnected by user" ?
Above that message there should be something steam message for reason why dropped.
