Server does not start - Problem: Metamod

Hey guys,

I've been at this problem for about an hour. I searched the forum for the errors, none helped. My liblist.gam is as follows:

I'm running on Windows XP SP2. Now, my problem is everytime I try to load up my server it either has "host_error" or nothing. I get host_error when I try using the metamod-p26 dll. When I switch back to metamod1.18 dll, it says "Starting up dedicated server...." and then nothing happens. There is no console. I can click on the Dedicated Server as many times after it disappears meaning that it prolly shut off after it says "Starting up dedicated server...". Usually if I do that, it will restrict me to opening more than one server, but it doesn't.

Without metamod running, my server is fine. I've installed Amxx and metamod before, I don't know why I can't now. I'm pretty sure that the dll's are not corrupted because I got it from the host site.

Any help is appreciated.

have your server functional, delete the addons folder, use the installer.

I did use the installer, and when I did, I got folders with nothing in them. o.o So I had to download the CS Add-on and the Base.

But, I'll try it again.

Reinstalling can fix a lot of issues, give it a whirl.

Actually, I just reinstalled everything today because I had some errors before. No errors now 'cept this.

Also, when I used the installer, it just puts the folders in the right place but does not add the files for the folders. So, I have to download the base and add-on separately.

the installer works fine for me, maybe its not extracting correctly in the first place (the first installer).

Hmm, odd. Well, it's the same if I install with the Base and Add-on anyhow. All files are there and such... just metamod will cause a breakdown in my server. I don't know how else to fix it. o.o Without metamod, I can't run amxx. :S

its not the same, because we know the installer does it correctly. As for you, anyones guess is as good as mine.

Well, I completely deleted every thing for the dedicated server and uninstalled the installer. I redownloaded everything, now the installer works. I guess I just installed over the last one without unstalling it first. Anyway, my server works with mp.dll, but it doesn't work with metamod.dll. Why?

I dunno what else to do.

Yay! I got it to work.

Apparently when I completely uninstalled my whole CS and Steam, it didn't delete the launch options I had on my Dedicated Server before. I deleted that, now it works. ^^ Thanks for trying to help.
