Hi there
I have a very funny Problem with the say sounds and the Plugin sounds, they all work fine when i start the Server but after a few Mapīs they stop working one after another.
This is how i got my Server set up:
V-Server @ Netcup, Running newest CSS Server on Debian Linux
Metamod, Sourcemod, ManiAdmin GunGame SM (Altex version) Eventscripts, <-- all newest Versionīs.
The sounds are set up via ManiAdmin with Soundlist & Commandlist.
The same Sounds & Settings used 2 work befor the OB Update just fine. ( with GG5 + ES without SM )
I also have a SM Plugin called "KnifeOwned" it playīs a "haha" Sound every time someone is beeing Kniffed. This Plugin works fine after the Server is started and also stops working after a few Mapīs.
Since this has nothing 2 do with ManiAdmin i figured this might be a Problem with SourceMod or the new CSS Server after OB Update.
However i dont realy know where else 2 look for or ask for help, so "SORRY" if this is the wrong Forum, still hope someone can give an advise or anything.

PS: ingame Console gives out this :

FCVAR_SERVER_CAN_EXECUTE prevented server running command: say
Failed to load sound "admin_plugin\cssplayer\lol.mp3", file probably missing from disk/repository

iīve tryed a few more things...
I Disabeld ManiAdmin 2 rule out that it might be the Source of the problem.
And in deed it didnīt make any difference.
The same goes for Eventscriptīs i also disabled it and no difference.
I also disabeld SourceMod and it did not make a difference 2 so it can only be a Problem wir the CSS Game Server or Metamod because those are the only 2 left that i canīt Disable :-) .
( I also set up a new GameServer and only put MetaMod and Mani on it same Problem.)
Any Ideas... ???

Well Problem Solved :

I thought i might share the Info i gathered with you guys.

Seemīs that it was the new OB Updated Server or itīs config all along.

There is a
pure_server_whitelist.txt in the .../orangebox/hl2/ folder
it contains information for the server and whitelist.cfg / whitelist_beta.cfg about materials sounds etc.
It didnīt help putting the Sound directories in there but what did help was
deleting all the information
in that pure_whitelist.txt
and the changing sv_pure from "1" to "0" in the server.cfg ---> .../orangebox/cstrike/cfg/

since then everything works fine.

Check it out @ 88.198.183.160:27015 ---> cssplayer.de

After knowing what affect sv_pure have on server, I would not ever set it sv_pure 0

Good luck with glass wall cheaters

*

I haven't edit that file, only pure_server_whitelist.txt and custom files/sounds works fine.

Well, what u think is worse a wallhack cheater that can be banned or a GunGame Server without working sounds ?
And iīm not talking about "say-sounds" primarely the event soundīs like when u level up or down etc.

But u do have given me an interesting idea iīll try the sv_pure 1 without the whitelist.cfg maybe that will work.

Steam / Valve did update the whitelist.cfg a few dayīs ago maybe they are aware of the problem ....

If you want get sounds work on sv_pure 1
Quick and easy way, find and edit
...orangebox/hl2/pure_server_whitelist.txt

Code:
whitelist
{
    //
    // 3 modifiers are allowed on file specifications:
    //
    // from_steam - only check the Steam cache for the file (ignore anything on disk)
    // allow_from_disk - allow the file to come from disk
    // check_crc - used with allow_from_disk - server does CRC checks on the client's file to make sure it matches
    //
    // The default modifier on all files is allow_from_disk. Thus, all files can come from disk and don't need CRC checks unless
    // allow_from_disk can be set at the same time as check_crc. Use the + character in between them to signify this: allow_from_disk+check_crc.

    //
    // Three types of file specifications:
    //
    // 1. directory\*.* - refers to all files under the directory
    // 2. directory\... - refers to all files under the directory and all directories under that (recursively)
    //    3. directory\filename        - refers to a single file

Try also add this command in server.cfg
This help me about quake-sounds.
sv_forcepreload 1
Code:
"sv_forcepreload" = "1"
 archive
 - Force server side preloading.
