I got to thinking, you know how you wonder if someone is wallhacking or not?

You gotta record a demo, let a couple other admins review it etc, before initiating a ban blah blah blah.

I had a thought what if anyone could enable mat_wireframe 2 only while they're dead?

I think it would be a great plugin for catching unwanted wall hackers.


Now if this plugin were created, it would go something like this:

"Hey Joe, I think that guy may be wall hacking, take a look"

"Joe types "enablewireframe"

"You're right Bill, he's watching that guy through the wall!"

obviously the plugin would turn off while you're alive, kinda like that betting mod "you can only place a bet while you're dead".

If someone could make this I would be really grateful.

This would be a good idea, I only say that because I think using wire frame in my opinion is the best way to tell if someone is wall hacking.

It's possible to allow a player to turn it on (manually) when he dies by making use of SendConVarValue so you can 'trick' the client into thinking sv_cheats are on. However, I don't think you can actually trigger the client to turn on the wireframe view because of FCVAR_SERVER_CAN_EXECUTE.
