I was wondering if there was a way to change some of the sounds. I have a couple in wav but they won't work when i rename them with that same name that its replaceing. What do I need to do to get these to work? Thank You!!

Most of the sounds played can be changed with the gg_sound_* cvars (check near the bottom of http://avalanche.epherion.com/gungame/cvars.php).

Make sure to restart your server twice after changing your gungame.cfg with new sounds.

Don't overwrite the old sound files. Instead, make new sound files, and change the gg_sound_* cvars with the new file names.

Sorry 2 be a pain in ur azz but i did what u said.
Instead of overwrite i changed the cvars gungame.cfg (just the welcome)

// sound cvars
gg_sound_levelup "gungame/smb3_powerup.wav"
gg_sound_leveldown "gungame/smb3_powerdown.wav"
gg_sound_nade "gungame/nade_level.wav"
gg_sound_knife "gungame/knife_level.wav"
gg_sound_welcome "gungame/dzwelcome.wav"
gg_sound_triple "gungame/smb_star.wav"
gg_sound_winner "media/Half-Life08.mp3"

i restarted the server twice and when i go into the server the first time i downloaded the sound but when i go into game it doesn't play.... any ideas?? Thx again

Do no sounds play at all, or does it play the old sound? If it's the former, the .wav may not be properly formatted for Half-Life.

I forget what format HL requires, but I believe regular Windows Sound Recorder can do it. Go to File->Properties and then pick Convert Now. PCM probably works.
