Tried the latest build of 1.5.3 Linux 3983 and get the following in the log

L 02/08/2014 - 23:54:22: [SM] Unable to load extension "updater.ext": Could not find interface: IWebternet
L 02/08/2014 - 23:54:28: Error log file session closed


go back to older version and log is clean

Which Linux distribution are you using that doesn't come with a GLIBC version of 2.7 or newer? Even CentOS 6.0 (released in July 2011) shipped with GLIBC 2.12... and CentOS is up to CentOS 6.5 these days.

Edit: I'm going to make a wild guess and say you're running CentOS 5.x.

This was an unintentional change and should be fixed as of the new 3984 snapshot.

The stable 1.5.2 Sm after the recent csgo patch is causing major sv and var problems. Do you guys think its SM or just the csgo patch?

yes, as normal Mr. Powerlord, you are correct Centos 5.9 final

and yes steamcmd still does not work on this distro. Valve would never tell me what favor I could run on 32 bit hardware that was compatible with steamcmd, so I still have to manually upload all files to the servers on that host via ftp. Anyone know of a supported 32 bit Linux distro that SteamCMD does work on? Valve told me that they do not support any version of CentOS anymore, but would not tell me what I could use
