i really think ive tried everything to install these mods on my server...it is a rental so all i have is ftp and hlsw a thirdperson commander thingy for my server. i load my server and it does not load either metamod or amxx i dont really know which and i dont know why ive followd instructions to install exactly like you say in ur .doc section. Its a CZ server which is what the problem is i guess... PLZ HELP ME been trying for a week to solve this problem

ill help since i got a cz server and got it to work. First what u gotta do is tell me if its linux or win32?

What u had to do is put metamodx and amxx folders in the addons folder. Once those are there... u gotta put this in the liblist.gam (located in the czero folder)

look in there for:
gamedll "dlls/mp.dll"
gamedll_linux "dlls/cs_i386.so"

then change it to:
gamedll "addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll"
gamedll_linux "addons/metamodx/dlls/metamod_i386.so"

Once u have done that. Tell me if it is working or not. You may need to do one more thing...

then go in the metamodx folder and look in the plugins.ini
put this if u have linux:
linux addons/amxx/dlls/amxx_mm_i386.so

this if u have win32:
win32 addons/amxx/dlls/amxx_mm_i386.dll

however now i get this message:
FATAL ERROR (shutting down): Tried to create a message with a bogus message type ( 0 )

but i dont know what this message is i turned both the amx_imessage and the amx_scrollmsg plugins off to see if it was them but i guess its not cause it still crashes what other messages are there

There's a typo in Burnzy's post re: the plugins.ini entry..

it should be

win32 addons\amxx\dlls\amxx_mm.dll

And the liblist.gam entry should be..
gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"

Of course if it's a Linux server then it doesn't matter.
win32 likes \ and linux likes / in their pathnames

well i just guessed the win32 stuff, i didnt have enough time to look through the tutorials for him. I have a linux server so i knew what exactly to do for linux

Ya.. we can blame that on Bill Gates for being anal when he first developed his Dos. Until then all others used /. This idiosyncrasy is one of the biggest problems installing these things.

It isn't rocket science.
Have this in your Liblist.gam :

gamedll "addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll"

Have this in your Metamod Plugins.ini :

win32 addons/amxx/dlls/amxx_mm.dll
