does hlds needs to be turned off (server down) to have a succesfull hldsupdate (command update)?

or can u update hlds while running it?

I'm running hlds under windows (

open cmd consol and go your base directory (where you installed counter strike), add update command end of command line "-autoupdate" start your server, so update start... sometimes need restart for update.
