Splitsecond cheat activations work too, don't they?
And if you're worried about chatspam, there're hooks for that too.

Silvers, that borks up the view in TF2. It spins around the player, and you can't see your weapon/hat, and it doesnt stay behind the player like normal thirdperson.

Do you mean enabling sv_cheats 1, executing command and then turning off? Would that not disable stats/achievements?


FlaminSarge: I didn't know that, it works pretty good in L4D2, follows player but if you walk into someone or a wall it goes back to firstperson it seems until the camera has more space.

It's for a tradeserver, so I don't think that's an issue.

I believe that once you turn sv_cheats off, you return back to first person. That's how it is in hl2dm at least.

You should never leave sv_cheats on, ever. Yup, the client losses thirdperson when the sv_cheats goes off.

We need to let valve know about one of the updates which involves Adding the "Server can execute" flag to the “firstperson” and “thirdperson” commands. To allow the server to execute the thirdperson command without jumping through hoops to do it.

I run an achievement server and would like my players to be able to get achievements and have fun.

Right but setting sv_cheats 1 on the client and leaving it like that, just for the clients, is harmess on a trade server.

It's a trade server. What are people going to do? Wallhack?

The issue isn't with the server not being able to execute it, but with it reverting to firstperson the first next frame when sv_cheats = 0.

Just tell clients sv_cheats is 1, having it 0 on the server.

They'll be able to do all of the client side hax but nothing else and thirdperson will still work. Since its just trade server who cares
