Nextlife sound not working

Yeah, basically, it says in console that it can't find the file to play, but clearly, the file is there.
It's a .wav with 192kbps and the frequency is 44100 Hz.
And yes, I checked again and everything is fine, the file is in the "download" list and in the "sound_nextlife" lis, but still, it does not work.
I remember that, two years ago, I had the same problem but with the "sound_lastman" which, weird enough, works properly now. xD
Is there a way to fix this?
EDIT: Also, do you know if the .vtf of the overlay image must be in some different resolution? Right now the overlay is bugged really bad.

I would recommend sound file bitrates at 128kbps (including bgm's). 96kbps will work fine too.

Most overlays i've seen are around 1024 x 1024 in resolution.

By the way, the sound thing somehow is working now (no idea why, but I am not complaining); later I'll try to set that resolution to 1024 x 1024

Overlay still bugged as hell, no idea why.
I changed the resolution to 1024x1024, but still buggy.

you know ive been wanting to ask for some time now about some sounds to. the sounds all use to work for me at one time i saw this awhile back but anyways now some wont work for some reason so i hit the till key to look and it says it is missing from what ever it is. and the files are all on the server, fastdown, and on my pc.

I fixed it by precaching it, try with that.
