Zombie Plague bug Reporting/Suggestions Thread


Post here all the bugs you ever found for MeRcyLeZZ's Zombie Plague Mod.
ATTENTION! Don't post here bugs found on other modified ZPs, that are already showed in the next list or that may be caused by 3rd party plugins.

Also you can post suggestions. Don't post suggestions that are already listed or that can unbalance the gameplay. Please tell me if you agree or don't agree with a suggestion of mine and why.

Bugs i found so far:

1. Some times when a player infects another player the kill doesn't show in frags zone. Example:
Also the victim doesn't emit any sound and(not sure about this last one) no hud message shows(X has been infected by Y).
2. Some times flares don't light up
3. Glow doesn't work all the times on both nemesis and survivor
4. Some server owners complain about getting "run time error 4" and then server crashes
5. Other owners say they get msg_one error and then server crash
6. When enabling "zp_remove_doors" cvar (personally i had it set to 1 - remove rotating only)
it removes the rotating buttons too (like the light switch from cs_arabstreets map)
7. Some times if a grenade is thrown into a player it gets stuck (not the player) and remains
in the place where it hit the player
8. p_knife.mdl removal on "zp_admin_knife_models_human" cvar enabling
9. Players some times don't respawn or worldspawn kill even if "zp_respawn_on_worldspawn_kill" is enabled
10. If plague round and respawn is enabled all the players respawn just as humans or zombies
(depening on the "zp_deathmatch" cvar) but none of them is turned into nemesis or survivor if
one of the living nemesis/survivors is killed
11. If nemesis round and "zp_deathmatch" is set to "2" players respawn as zombies instead of as humans
also the same it is with survivor round (players respawn as humans instead of as zombies -
"zp_deathmatch" is set to "1"). there should be added exceptions for these 2 rounds
12. If a human is the last one he gets the extra health reward, but if another human respawns and then gets
infected he gets that reward again as many times as this happens
13. Correct this: "zp_nem_ignore_frags 0 // Whether to earn frags" in "zp.cfg"
it's actually "Whether NOT to earn frags" or "Whether to ignore frags"
same for ammo packs for both nemesis and survivor
14. Once "SET MODELINDEX OFFSET" is enabled it can't be turned off without changing the addons
if there are any models with screwed hitboxes/bones it will cause some trouble
PS: zombie_source model is also bugged
15. If the Survivor's weapon is changed (isn't m249 anymore) custom model won't work
Suggestions:

1. Add a light cycle system from day to night instead of just setting the lighting level
zp_lighting cvar should be changed to a number or letter/word in order to enable this feature
(instead of creating a new cvar for this function)
add cvars to specify between what letters the light level should cycle
Example: cycle from "a" to "m"
add a cvar to specify in how much time the cycle should get to the other point
Example: get from "a" to "m" in X seconds (or minutes)
2. Add apocalypse gameplay mode (a team of survivors VS a team of nemesis)
3. Ability to start/stop weather effects without no map change and maybe schedule them?
4. Add custom knife sounds for humans (hitwall, stab, slash, etc)
5. Add some new natives: to find out if a user is burning/frozen or has NoDamage on (has madness for zombies)
to set a user on fire, freeze a user, give a user NoDamage (madness for zombies - including the sound)
6. Add to the basic zombie classes simple but efficient ones (like one immune to fire/frost,
one that has madness and can use it once in X seconds) using the new natives
7. Some gore effects when nemesis kills a human (not survivor)
8. Scream sounds for humans when getting hurt in swarm round (like in Mini_Midget's Zombie Swarm Mod)
9. Well this is kind of hard...some bots specially for zombie plague
10. Other blood color for zombies, also another color for nemesis (like in this plugin:

11. Add some other resources provided with cs/hl as basic (like skyes: backalley, drkg)
12. Change the zombies basic model...fix the zombie_source model
13. Human idle sounds...many are provided with hl&cs
14. Semiclip...blocking is really annoying
15. ZP ranking and top system (by ammo packs)
16. A player that kills the nemesis/survivor should get X extra ammo packs (if not nem or surv himself)
17. Cvar to define how many (maximum) times a player will respawn
18. Zombies that are burning should set other zombies/humans (defined by cvar) if distance is less than X (cvar)
19. Add a cvar to specify whether zombies should take damage or not while frozen

I have a few ideas.

I see some bugs that it do not happen to me(Not even once).
Number: 2, 3, 4

2, maybe you've a custom plugin

3, same as number 3(I had a custom plugin that blocks the glow for no reason)

4, then they've edited the main source. I had run time error 4 when I first started my new natives test.

2. I don't know...i wasn't playing on my server, but i'm sure it was customized and that it had some extra items, classes and extensions, so it could be...
3. Same as 2 (but don't really remember if it was the same server)...actually i think i found and fixed the problem in my version of mercylezz's zp...it was a misstype between the g_ent_playermodel[id] and normal id (because of the handle models on separate ent function)
4. Don't know, but i really don't think so...also sunx was using the original zp plugin and he got that error from it

I also have the flare bug, sometimes ... and im using simple, basic zp 4.3 right now ;)

The Flare bug happens when ur playing on a server on which ur ping is high so it is bcoz of that i have tested it and this is why it happens

The flare bug is because the main lighting delay is from 5 second, and uses PVS, so:

If after the 5 seconds you are not watching the entity, you'll not see the lighting effect until the lighting effect comes again.

We only need to change MSG_PVS to MSG_BROADCAST, maybe you will has more lag and shit, but that is the unique method to unbug this
