<style type="text/css">

Afaik, HTTPS is not a supported protocol in the MOTD.

They may have updated it since the last time I remember trying it (which was a while ago). I guess only some debugging will help narrow down the issue.

Try linking to Google and/or YouTube to see if the same issue occurs.

I did not fully understand what you mean.
What is the reason for this problem?

Try referring your motd to google or youtube. Those are 2 known websites that have https and work in the motd. This is a check to make sure https links work or not since yours is one.

So, just in case people were curious, there is a request submitted to Valve to add support for HTTPS to the MOTD here. Solokiller claims that the web browser in GoldSource is implemented with Chromium Embedded Framework 1 and he implies that it doesn't support HTTPS.

If some sites work, I wonder if either the site is adjusting to support the web browser's capabilities. Seems bizarre that Google would allow it to got back to HTTP. So, if Google works, I'm not really sure what's going on.

I actually show it with http. But my main purpose is to run Google ads. However, google ads contain https.

Most website these days will redirect to HTTPS preventing people from using HTTP on their site entirely.
