Very strange indeed. The problem this was last time was the incorrect offset for SetClientInfo, so the latest stable SM or snapshot should work.

If you only have FTP access to your server make sure the settings are set to ALWAYS overwrite files. I think a lot of people get these problems because of not setting this. Some clients presume that same byte sizes mean no need to upload but with gamedata updates this is not always the case.

Yes it's strange.

I have the latest version from everything (mmsource-1.7.1, sourcemod-1.1.2) and it's not working. Everything else is OK, only this plugin died some weeks ago. (The original and also the edited version from this plugin.) The FTP thing is OK too, I removed all my plugins and settings, uploaded only this plugin alone with only the standard sourcemod plugins, and not working, just writing in the chat that the renaming was done, but not.

Now I give it up, btw thx for the help guys! Cya!

Did you make sure you updated the GameData files? That's what will fix it not working.

Yes, I first deleted the 6 old files from DODS\orangebox\dod\addons\sourcemod\gamedata folder, and copied the 6 new files from the sourcemod-1.1.2 into this folder.

I tested all my other plugins too, and all is working fine, just this not.
I'm using this plugin from the Admin Menu, as I attached the code some messages before, so there choosing a player, and choosing the new name for him.

Yes, you have to use 1.2 to get SM to run in L4D.

It said "[SM] Admin changed your name..." or whatever, but it didn't change.

I have the same problem, seems I have done everything correctly (will check again) but same as above, I get the message that the name has changed, but it does not.

MetaMod 1.7.1 SourceMod 1.1.2 Windows server DoDs.

Will try again soon on a second server, no errors in the log files.
