I seriously have no idea. I go in my servers and ask my players, "Has anyone heard or seen any popup ads or ad sounds in the past few days?" everyone says no even my regular players. The only ad they claim to see is the Pinion one when they first join.

Is everyone who claims to be having issues using this on TF2? Is everyone who is having issues from the USA? The problem could be game/region related although that is complete speculation.

I have talked with other server operators that have not seen any popups or hear anything playing in the background. Their servers are all located outside of the USA so I suspect you are right with the popup ads being geo targeted to a specific region.

I'm surprised this post is still up.
It's obvious that the plugin is dishonest/does dishonest things
- Forces clients to use bandwidth at the very least, possibly lag/disrupt gameplay with popups/freezes/lockups with the browser, or view various content (possibly pornographic/illicit content) at worst.
- No advertiser would willingly pay anyone for this type of activity, there's no analytics being gathered here, it's purely exploitative.
- Other stuff too that other people have mentioned but, blah whatever. People are going to use it anyway.

I seem to be getting the same My Link Protector pop-ups, most of which are nasty. I've only gotten them during one session, restarting TF2 fixed it for me. Some others were complaining of pop-ups, but I haven't heard anymore about them so I am assuming it is working okay for now.

UK here, and it is only tf2 that popups appear on. Really have to solve the plugin crashing the server though upon unload...

Remove the plugin from your folder and reload the map

I do use a different version which I will post now. However, it doesn't have anything to do with stopping popups and sounds people here seem to be getting.

The version below will fix the issue of this plugin breaking !bp, !motd, !radio, !custommotdcommand. It will detect if a MOTD has been opened by a player. If the MOTD is a visible one (like !bp or !motd) it will stop all ads for 100 seconds. If the MOTD is hidden (like with !radio) it stop all ads until the person closes radio. This has only been tested on TF2.

Everything code we have tested so far to block the popups has failed. If anyone has any ideas please post them here as were running out of options to test.
