If you use SQLite you do not need to do anything but what I posted, if that does not work then you will need web hosting and you will have to create a MySQL database there and do it that way.

I do not really know much about MySQL databases so I cant really help with that, hence why I went with the SQLite

willy1234x1: If you've set maprate_db_config after the plugin loaded, then you need to reload the plugin for the change to take effect: "sm plugins reload maprate".

I'm going to install this plugin ASAP, one question though:

You mentioned in an earlier post that you were going to look into a fix for the whole "noobs pressing 1" issue. Does the current version have a fix for that or not?

I was doing that, the fix I found turned out to be installing SM 1.1.0r2255

I thought of a possible fix to the noobish press 1 thing. When 1 is pressed a new dialog pops up with 1-Go boom? 2-yes 3 no. So when the maprate dialog comes up they'll press 1 and it'll ask "Are you sure you want to rate this map terrible?" then if they press 1 again sm_slay activates on them.

1) what if someone wants to really rate the map terrible?
2) dont force people to rate the map, add a line to your advertisments saying type !maprate to rate the map or something.

Well if they think it's terrible when the second box pops up asking if they're sure they'll press 2 instead of one because one is "Go boom" and 2 is "yes"

Not at the moment. Rest assured, I intend to release an update by the end of the week that addresses this and incorporates many of the suggestions in this thread and on IRC.
