I've scene this on other TF2 servers as well. When they are on TF2 Minecraft Idle/Trade type maps either the lava from the map or something else makes them feel very jerky or choppy. Making the game very unplayable. Any one know what config settings to set to fix this? As some servers are smooth.

Thanks.

Most likely due to the server not being restarted after a very long time. Happened to mine until I set up automated restart cron entries.

Had nothing to do with that. It's specific Minecraft maps that do it. Everyones ping is fine, all the other servers on the box are fine. The movement of the players just looks very odd.

Maps like: ctf_minecraft_cave_b8
trade_minecraftworld_a5

It's sort of playable it's just very jerky and wierd. Difficult to explain.

Maybe the Java is leaking into TF2.

Sorry, I couldn't resist

If you're running mcworld try v. a7, i use it.
Also what are the server pc's specs, unless you pay for hosting.

This is a good idea. You can use time limit enforcer to restart the map any time that server time reaches 0:00, or the server cron plugin to run a "sm_map %MAPNAME%" every 3-6 hours. Idlers will not be kicked from the server, they will only be moved to spec.

I was just thinking that...

I find that it can be caused if your server does not have enough fps or is running for too long with many physic props, particles or entities hopping about. And guessing from personal experience on mc maps there are a ton of particles floating about, and a lot of moving parts.

Well it has nothing to do with the server being up for a long time. The server runs all the other TF2 Servers and other source related servers fine.

I'm thinking there's some sort of convers or w/e I can add to the config to fix this issue.

Don't strobing lights often cause this lag in Source games? I remember quite a few maps (I want to say vsh_spotline for some reason, because I think it has one section with strobing lights that you stutter in) where either the entire map was laggy or parts of it were. Maybe something to do with animated textures for lava if those are present in these maps?

Why not just schedule it to do changelevel %MAPNAME% instead? Seems silly to involve SourceMod when the server already has a command to change maps.

This is true. I just use sm_map ingame and did not think about that, but yes that works too.
