Hello,

is it possible for the dev team of SourceMod / MetaMod to propose a system with mail notification while a new version of a release or a snapshots is avaiable ?

This will be very helpfull for people like me wich go frequently on the snapshot page to see if there is a new snapshot for my version and then check in the "hg" what has been changed to decide if i update or not.

The system will be simple like:
- be mailed when there is a new release
- be mailed when there is a new version of snapshot (with option to change the snapshot like: OS (linux, ...) and version 1.4, 1.3 ...
- and in those mail includess the change

what did you think of that ?

Many email clients already support RSS feeds (which exist for both SM News and the hg repositories).

For email clients that don't, there are free services that will send email alerts on new items in a feed.

I don't really see why a mailing system is required. They could always post on one of the Valve mailing lists instead since most server owners are there anyways.
