welcome message

as in 1.6 ppl would connect and it would say welcome to "servername"
is there a way to do this cause i havnt seen anything implimented, it would be great cause you can put your site so ppl can get maps goto forums etc.

The problem is, noone reads the MOTD in the game. They just press enter and go straight to the action. Since the beginning, I had in there my site url, a few rules, and how to enable the console. Still 70% of the players who stayed more than a round or two, asked how to enable the console, what the our url was, or broke the rules.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but no matter what you do, people will allways ask questions like that / what your url is / break your rules

But on a serious note; I see what you mean... You want to force people to look at something motd-like without them being able to close it, right?

Sounds like a plugin request to me

Personally I would get pissed having a motd (or something) forced down my throat

not in MOTD just like on the screen while you are in the game i.6 had a amx_welcomemessage, i believe thats whats it called. like it would say "welcome to kingsofwar.net source server" or can be modified to say
"please goto kingsofwar.net to get map packs and server stats"

yea kinda is a request of a plug in

i agree. in my old CZ server ( before i made it a CS:S ) i used to have . WELCOME PERSON TO %HOST%
in a way for me it would be
WELCOME EATMYSHORTS TO CZWARLORDS

ive also seen

EATMYSHORTS ENTERED %HOST% and when leaving EATMYSHORTS DOUSENT HAVE THE BALLS.
