There was nothing wrong with the plugin itself. You need to grab a snapshot version of SM itself.

A 1.7.1-dev snapshot will be sufficient.

ok, it doesn't crash anymore... but it also doesn't seem to stop the voting from taking place either...

It's possible that they changed how voting works in the game.

This plugin ever working in a game other than TF2 was luck to begin with.
