Updater is a SourceMod plugin.

It works by looking at a specific URL that the plugin specifies (this url for PropHunt dev versions). What it does depends on what versions you're currently running and how you have Updater configured.

Under the default configuration: if you're running PropHunt 3.4.0.0 beta 2 it will download just prophunt.smx (and prophunt.sp if Updater is configured to download source) due to the Patches section. If you're running any other version, it will download prophunt.smx and all the configuration files (including map configs).

Obviously, if you've customized your server's weapons config, this is bad. As such, even if you have Updater installed, you can use ph_useupdater 0 to disable Updater for PropHunt.

Updater can also be configured to just log where there's a new version available... but then you have to remember to check the server logs to find that out.

I am having an issue if only one player is on the server. I get spammed with errors and the server severely lags with high CPU usage until a 2nd player or bot joins. With a 2nd player/bot the errors stop and the game mode seems to work correctly. I use SM1.8 and have already tried a clean install. Ive also tried all the versions around 3.3.3, 3.3.4, 3.4.0.0.

This isn't working for 1.8 I have already tried. Revert back to SM 1.7.3 - 5305 and it works perfectly.

I tried with that exact version and my issue still occurs with only one player on.

The last TF2 update broke Arena maps in general, of which PropHunt maps are a subset.

For the time being, you can use the plugin linked in the middle of this thread.
