From couple of months on CS GO Community Server guide there is a link for CS GO Broadcast enabling Community Server Operators to host GOTV like Broadcasting directly on HTTP Protocol. If anyone has been successfull using that guide . Please let me know.

Very few people know about this update. It requires lot of time and dedication and require help of Web Developer. If you are able to do this , even people can set up Twitch and Youtube gaming direct live stream from the server itself.

From what i read you still need a game client to connect to the url.

To start playback clients have to issue the playcast command with the "base URL" for your API.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but does this mean people can watch the match on a browser or does the link opens up the game?

You need the client to use this, and a dedicated application to relay the data broadcasted from the server to the playcast client. There are 2 repos in github about this matter, one of them empty but the other one is a go application that i managed to use. It works exacly like a gotv relay but you can use demo controls to control stuff about the replay.
