I'm just getting too fed up with this whole scenario. Why do I keep getting the buffer overflow. I know it happens when your config file is too big, but there has to be a way around it.
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Linux Debian

PHP Code:
Cbuf_AddTextbuffer overflow
Cbuf_AddText
buffer overflow
Cbuf_AddText
buffer overflow
Cbuf_AddText
buffer overflow
Cbuf_AddText
buffer overflow
Cbuf_AddText
buffer overflow
Can anyone help me out with this ?

Possible resolutions.

1. Move to windows srcds (highly recommended - much more stable, less crashes)
2. Load one of the several existing plugins for this srcds linux bug.

I didn't find any extensions or plugins to help with this. Can you point me towards the right direction?

SendNetMsg this.is.my.ip:27015: stream[netchan_t::reliabledata] buffer overflow (maxsize = 4000)!
It comes in chunks.. like 4-8 lines of the same error are grouped together.. then server goes for some time without anything, just regular console stuff.. then all of sudden youll get another group with 4-8 repeats

funny thing is, when i ask my mods and beta testers, many of them are not seeing this error. so then i wonder why this would be client-specific...
My issue is server side, while yours seems to be client side. Nothing to do with each other.

Would also appreciate a link to the plugins that fixes this. I searched around but only found one that suggests we edit all the plugins to not use autoexec configs.

well i dont know if it is server-side or not.. im only speculating. both of the errors are being caused by some buffer overflow.
good luck finding a resolution though
